North Smithfield, R.I. – Banneker Industries’, President & CEO, Cheryl W. Snead was selected as one of the speakers for the sixth Annual TEDxProvidence 2017 event. Hundreds of presenters from the RI area applied for these coveted spots, but only 18 were selected. The theme this year was the “Past, Present, and Future: Where have we been, what is the zeitgeist of our times, where are we going?” Speakers had either 11 or 18 minutes to convey their message.
Ms. Snead was asked to speak specifically about her personal career journey and Banneker’s “Secrets to Success.” Cheryl W. Snead is the founder, President, and CEO of Banneker Industries, Inc. A mechanical engineer by training, Snead has worked in Corporate America, small businesses, and serves on various non-profit and for profit boards locally, regionally, and nationally. She is a passionate, motivational speaker advocating for youth, minority, and women empowerment. Ms. Snead’s presentation titled, “It’s Not the Destination, But the Journey” described her own experiences and journey as well as Banneker’s start, and how it has evolved into a multi-million dollar successful Woman and Minority-Owned business by focusing on its employees – “Team Banneker” and through service and continuous improvement.
